[The Tech Files] Why do you need to grow your Facebook Following NOW?

If you REALLY want Facebook to work for you, then you need to build great relationships with your audience, and show them how much you are able to enhance their lives. That’s where the TRUST comes from.

And this is the surest way to generate leads – from those people that KNOW, LIKE and TRUST you. Those that have had repeatedly good interactions with you and your brand.

But here’s the issue: Only a VERY small percentage of people that follow your page will actually see your posts. I’m talking less than ten percent through organic reach (organic reach means you haven’t paid for people to see it).

“Whaaaaaaat?” I hear you say. Let me explain…..

With the amount of traffic circulating Facebook, the algorithms have to play a major part in deciding exactly what people see. Sadly, that means that your content will not be shown to everyone who follows your page. It just isn’t possible.

And you can be sure that Facebook are focussed on the Facebook User’s social experience, so they will be favouring posts that get good interaction – giving them a clue that this content is favourable.

It’s actually a lot more complex that this – but this is all you really need to know right now.

So what does this mean to you?

If you only have 100 likes on your page…. Then less than 10 people are probably seeing your posts. Sad but true.

So you can see why it is so important to grow your audience?

A small percentage of 1000 is much better than a small percentage of 100, right?

But can you also see why it is soooooooo important to post good content?

The better your content, the better your engagement in the form of comments, likes and shares. This indicates to Facebook that you have provided worthy content to their Facebook Users, and your organic reach will be greater.

So here’s a question to ask yourself…

What content does your ideal customer NEED right now? What will help them to take one step forward today? That’s the content to focus on.
